Venezuela beat Argentina for the first time in history
The South American Qualifiers for the World Cup are no longer the same. Venezuela defeated Argentina 1-0 against all odds. Having Lio Messi, Higuain and Di Maria was not enough for Argentina to stop the surprising "Vinotinto" team.
The only goal of the match was netted by Fernando Amorebieta, who plays for the Spanish Club Athletic Bilbao. Amorebieta headed a corner kick executed by the Venezuelan star Juan Arango.
Coach Cesar Farias was wise enough to stop Messi with a strong defensive line, using fresh players that did not take part of the first game against Ecuador.
